PROJECT SHOWCASE
PRAHRAN
Brief
We were engaged early during the construction phase by the owners to make their new home feel warm and inviting yet practical due to having a young family.
Working with the natural light from the full-height glass windows and doors we were to keep the integrity and design intention of the architecturally designed home by Mim Design. Garden and pool views were not to be obstructed while remaining practical. By being involved early during the construction stage, we worked in conjunction with Clancy Construction to ensure that enough room was allowed in the ceiling to conceal both roller blinds, curtains and motorised tracks where needed.
The fabrics for the curtains needed to have texture and softness and compliment the polished concrete floors; natural stones and timbers specified.
Outcome
-
S-fold sheer curtains to downstairs living/dining area with motorised roller blinds concealed in the ceiling – Allows for the natural light to softly filter in so the full height vastness of glass is not ‘naked’.
-
Motorised total blackout curtains in the lounge/dining area was needed on those extremely sunny days and for complete privacy. The curtains created a beautiful warmth and softness against the polished concrete floors, natural stone benchtops and timbers.
-
Throughout the house, upstairs bedrooms and study –
s-fold curtains and chain operated roller blinds. Both coverings are practical and complement the function of each room.
-
Main bedroom had a double curtain customised curved track concealed in the ceiling with gather-finish blockout and sheer curtains. The double curtains can be individually drawn to close off the balcony and bathroom to give an intimate, dreamy luxury hotel vibe.
